AJ Allmendinger joined Kaulig Racing in 2019, running a part-time schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) in both 2019 and 2020. In 2021, Allmendinger competed full-time in the NXS, earning five wins and the Regular Season Championship and finished the season fourth in driver points. In addition to his full-time NXS schedule, Allmendinger had an impressive run in his NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) starts, including earning Kaulig Racing’s first NCS win in the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. In 2022, Allmendinger earned five NXS wins – including his fourth consecutive win at the Charlotte ROVAL and earning the NXS Regular Season Championship for the second consecutive season.
After a four-year hiatus from the NCS full-time schedule, Allmendinger made his return driving Kaulig Racing’s No. 16 Chevrolet for the 2023 season. He earned seven top 10, four top-five finishes and one win in the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte ROVAL, Kaulig Racing’s second NCS win.
In 2024, Allmendinger returns to the NXS full-time to drive the No. 16 Chevrolet while also running a part time schedule in the NCS. When not behind the wheel, the California native spends his time on the golf course and being a dad to his son, Aero, and his four-legged children, Xena the French Bulldog and Chicken Nugget the cat.
