Daniel Hemric returns to Kaulig Racing for his third season with the team, this time moving to NASCAR’s top series, the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS).

Hemric started racing go-karts at the age of five, but at 14, his family could no longer afford to financially support his racing career. The rest of the 32-year-old's career has been made for the silver screen. To help fund his early racing career, Hemric worked on building cars. He lived in race shops and on couches of team owners who gave him opportunities to work. Later, when racing late models, he built cars for other competitors to raise enough money to buy tires so he could race in the next event. Even after winning the biggest grassroots race in American history, the Legends Million, he had to siphon gas from his race car to his daily driver just to get home.

During his first season in the NCS, Hemric won Rookie of the Year in 2019, before going back to the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) to hone his skills further. Hemric broke through in the most dramatic way possible in the 2021 season finale at Phoenix Raceway with a dramatic last lap, last corner pass to score his first career NASCAR victory and secure the series championship at the same time. During the 2022 and 2023 NXS seasons with Kaulig Racing, Hemric scored nine top five and 32 top-10 finishes, earning a spot in the playoffs once again. In 2024, Hemric will return to full-time NCS competition piloting the team’s No. 31 Camaro ZL1.
