Lexington, N.C. – (June 20, 2019) – Two stage wins. That’s how Kaulig Racing kicked off the 2019 season, and the organization hasn’t looked back since. Now, with 14 events and 20 starts under their belt between the No. 10 (six starts) and No. 11 (14 starts) teams, president Chris Rice and team are approaching the halfway point of the season with no intention of checking up.
“This is our season,” Rice said. “This team wants to win races and has the ultimate goal of winning the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship – and their hard work shows it. We have two stage wins and two top-five finishes to our name so far, and that’s just the beginning. Each week we’re learning and improving. We plan to be there when it counts.”
Justin Haley, the team’s rookie and full-time driver currently holds one top five and 10 top 10s, and sits in playoff position – 10thin the NXS point standings. Haley’s stage win at Daytona International Speedway earned him one playoff point, honoring him to be one of only nine drivers to have claimed a bonus point.
“My rookie season has, so far, been pretty successful,” said Haley. “The guys at the shop have consistently given me fast and reliable cars, and we definitely keep improving week-in and week-out.”
The team’s part-time car with drivers Ross Chastain, Austin Dillon and Elliott Sadler has also collected a stage win (Daytona), along with one top five and two top 10s.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the performance and results Kaulig Racing is producing this season,” team owner Matt Kaulig stated. “We’re just about halfway into the season and it’s already our best year yet. We have some strong tracks coming up for us, and I can feel a win coming. These guys deserve to be in Victory Lane and celebrating their hard work.”
As the team heads into the off-weekend, they’ll look to regroup and come back strong using the momentum built during the first 14 race weekends.
