  • Kaulig Racing has made 10 NCS starts at Kansas Speedway and has earned five top-20 finishes.
  • So far in the 2024 season, Kaulig Racing has earned one runner-up finish, eight top 10s, 20 top 20s and led 54 laps.

Ty Dillon, No. 16 FitRX Camaro ZL1

  • Ty Dillon will make his fifth and final start of the 2024 NCS season with Kaulig Racing at Kansas Speedway.
  • This will mark Dillon’s 14th-career NCS start at Kansas.
  • Dillon has earned one win at Kansas Speedway in the ARCA Menards Series (AMS).

Daniel Hemric, No. 31 South Point Camaro ZL1

  • Daniel Hemric has made three NCS starts at Kansas Speedway.
  • Hemric earned his first-ever NCS pole award in 2019 during his rookie season.
  • So far in the 2024 NCS season, Hemric has earned four top 10s, 10 top-20 finishes and has led 14 laps.
  • Hemric has currently completed more laps than any other driver in the 2024 season with 7786 of 7827 laps completed (99.5%).
  • The No. 31 team will be participating in the Honor A Cancer Hero (HACH) program, on behalf of Martin Truex Jr., AdventHealth, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), and The NASCAR Foundation. Above Hemric’s driver-side door will feature the name Jackie Sulewski. Jackie was a mother to everyone and always offered a shoulder to lean on. She loved to travel and never lost her sense of adventure, even after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Nominated by her daughter, Julie, Jackie is remembered as a fighter who dealt head-on with whatever life threw at her. 

“Kansas in this NEXTGen car has been one of the more ‘racey’ racetracks we go to. It’s constantly three and four-wide on restarts and throughout the runs. You have to have maneuverability built into the racecar. It will be very important for us to unload close, qualify decent, and give ourselves a chance to maintain track position all day. Eventually I’ll have to get up around the fence and make hay into the run. It should be a fun one.”

Team Notes

  • Kaulig Racing has made 18 starts at Kansas Speedway in the NXS, earning four top fives and 10 top-10 finishes.
  • The team’s best outing at Kansas came in 2021. AJ Allmendinger finished third, Justin Haley finished fourth, and Jeb Burton finished 12th.
  • So far in the 2024 NXS season, Kaulig Racing has earned three wins, 11 top fives, 28 top-10 finishes and led 223 laps.

Daniel Dye, No. 10 Race to Stop Suicide Chevrolet Camaro

  • Daniel Dye will make his first-career NXS start at Kansas Speedway on Saturday afternoon, driving the No. 10 Race to Stop Suicide Camaro for Kaulig Racing.
  • Dye has made numerous starts at the 1.5-mile D shaped oval in both ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competition, collecting two top-five ARCA finishes and one-top 10 Truck Series finish.
  • The Daytona Beach, Fla. driver had completed all but three laps in 2024 action until being collected in an accident at Michigan International Speedway, the last NXS race in which Dye entered.
  • September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and Dye will drive a car featuring Race to Stop Suicide, an initiative started by the young driver several years ago. Those suffering from a mental health crisis are encouraged to call or text 988.
  • The No. 10 team will be participating in the Honor A Cancer Hero (HACH) program, on behalf of Martin Truex Jr., AdventHealth, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), and The NASCAR Foundation. The driver door nameplate will feature the name of Kyle Krieger. Kyle passed away after heroically battling cancer for three-and-a-half years. Being an avid NASCAR fan, Kyle celebrated his bachelor party at Bristol Motor Speedway with his buddies. His family selected this initiative to honor his memory and knows he would have gotten a kick out of seeing his name on Daniel’s car.

Josh Williams, No. 11 Call811.com Chevrolet Camaro

  • Josh Williams has made seven starts and led two laps in the NXS at Kansas Speedway.
  • Williams’ best-career finish came at Kansas in 2020. He finished sixth after starting 23rd.
  • In 2014, Williams drove his No. 6 Josh Williams Motorsports Chevy to a second-place finish in the ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas.
  • Williams sits 17th in the NXS points standings with four top 10s and 14 laps led.
  • The No. 11 team will be participating in the Honor A Cancer Hero (HACH) program, on behalf of Martin Truex Jr., AdventHealth, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), and The NASCAR Foundation. Above Williams’ driver-side door will feature the name Eldred (Ole) Olsen. Olsen is a cancer survivor and an acquaintance of Williams. He was nominated by his son, Brad, who says that his dad is his hero and taught him to treat everyone around him as his family.

AJ Allmendinger, No. 16 Morris-Shea Bridge Company, Inc. Chevrolet Camaro

  • AJ Allmendinger has made three NXS starts at Kansas Speedway. He has led 10 laps and earned one top five and two top-10 finishes.
  • In Allmendinger’s two NXS starts at Kansas Speedway with Kaulig Racing, he earned two top-five starting positions and finished both events in the top 10.
  • So far in the 2024 NXS season, Allmendinger has earned five top fives, 14 top-10 finishes and led 116 laps. Allmendinger is currently scored 10th in the playoff standings.
  • The No. 16 team will be participating in the Honor A Cancer Hero (HACH) program, on behalf of Martin Truex Jr., AdventHealth, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), and The NASCAR Foundation. Above Allmendinger’s driver-side door will feature the name Mary Hankins. Mary was a fighter in life and with her great sense of humor, believed laughter could cure almost anything.

“I’m looking forward to Kansas and the start of the playoffs. Getting back to a mile-and-a-half racetrack has been one of our strengths this season. Hopefully we can run inside the top six all day and gain some points to help from where we are starting below the cutline. We’ll work to get the balance right early and have a solid day.”

Shane van Gisbergen, No. 97 SafetyCulture Chevrolet Camaro

  • Shane van Gisbergen will make his first-career NXS start at Kansas Speedway in the No. 97 SafetyCulture Chevrolet.
  • Last weekend in Bristol, Van Gisbergen qualified 34th for the 300-lap event and ultimately took the checkered flag in 18th, posting his 19th top 20 of the season.
  • The Kansas Lottery 300 will mark the beginning of the NXS playoffs. Van Gisbergen will begin the playoffs in fifth place, 10 points above the cutline.

  • Fans can meet Van Gisbergen at the Trackhouse Merchandise Hauler in the fan zone on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. local time. Wristband required.
  • The No. 97 team will be participating in the Honor A Cancer Hero (HACH) program, on behalf of Martin Truex Jr., AdventHealth, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), and The NASCAR Foundation. Billy Timms, affectionally known as “Pawpaw,” lost fight to Stage 4 lung cancer on April 13, 2022 after three battles with the disease. Nominated by his grandson, Koby Timms, Billy was the inspiration for Koby to begin his racing career. Koby continues to race in pawpaw’s memory.

“It will be my first time racing at Kansas [Speedway], and I’m really looking forward to getting on the track. When it’s my first time at these race tracks, I’m just trying to learn as much as I can every lap. The playoffs start this weekend, and it’s going to be exciting to see what my No. 97 Kaulig Racing team can accomplish. We’ve been getting better and better all year and having a lot of fun, which is what this is all about!
