No. 11 Action Industries Chevrolet

After qualifying fourth, Brenden Queen stayed inside the top 10 throughout the entire first stage. Following a lap-63 restart, Queen slipped multiple spots but was able to make them back up before the Stage 2 end. During the final stage, Queen began clicking off top-10 lap times with just over 90 laps to go. As the final stage stayed green, Queen ran long, inheriting the lead from teammate, Christian Eckes, when the final green flag pit stops began. Just as Queen was being called to pit road, a timely caution came out. He stayed out as the leader and pitted under caution, before restarting from eighth place with 38 laps to go. Queen went on to finish ninth, earning a top 10 in his second-ever NASCAR Xfinity Series start.

“It’s been amazing couple of weeks getting to do this with Kaulig Racing. We qualified up front and even got some stage points. We had some issues there on pit road with the guys spinning out in front of us, causing us to lose some track position, but Eddie Purdue called a great race, and we were able to get it back and race up front with the playoff guys.”

No. 10 Fox Factory Vehicles Chevrolet

Daniel Dye was unable make a qualifying lap, due to a mechanical issue during practice and started at the rear for the Kansas Lottery 300. After making up 17 spots throughout the incident-free opening first stage, he gained four more spots on pit road during the first stage break. During Stage 2, Dye struggled with a tight-handling No. 10 Fox Factory Vehicles Chevrolet, falling to 25th place, before the team was able to make adjustments during the next stage break. The second round of adjustments proved to be positive for Dye. Running long during the final green-flag pit cycle, Dye sat 13th when a timely caution came out. He was able to pit under caution and went on to finish the race in 11th place.

“Overall, a decent result for a long day after starting last in our No. 10 Fox Factory Vehicles Chevy. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t get the car out of the tight-handling scenario, and that just hindered our progress and didn’t allow us to to get any closer to the front then we ultimately finished.”

No. 16 Celsius Chevrolet

Although he fired off tight in the No. 16 Celsius Chevrolet, Christian Eckes finished the opening stage of the Kansas Lottery 300 in 15th place, noting that the car started coming to him late in the run. After restarting in 14th place, he had a strong second stage, despite still battling a tight No. 16 Chevy, and finished 11th. As the final stage remained green, Eckes ran long, inheriting the lead when final green flag pit stops began. He pitted from the lead on lap 150, just six laps before a caution came out, trapping him as the first car one lap down. Fortunately, Eckes received the free pass and restarted back on the lead lap with 38 laps to go. He went on to finish in 14th place.

“The cards didn’t fall our way for sure today. We struggled on initial fire off and then got super unlucky pitting just before that final caution came out. That cost us track position, which is what we needed the most.”
