Race Recap | Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube

March 16, 2025

No. 16 Action Industries Camaro ZL1

  • Start: 18th
  • Stage 1 Finish: Sixth
  • Stage 2 Finish: 16th
  • Finish: Eighth
  • Recap: Early in the race, Allmendinger reported the No. 16 Action Industries Chevy was aero tight but the rear was solid. As leaders began to pit under green, Allmendinger drove up to seventh before the caution came out. The team pit for tires, fuel and an air pressure adjustment to help the handling of the car. Allmendinger was happy with the balance his Chevy and maintained position in the top 10 during Stage 2. Under the stage break, the team noticed the diffuser was down and likely causing some of the handling issues Allmendinger had. During the pit stop, the team attempted to repair this issue and determined the cable was broken. Allmendinger was still competitive in clean air, but traffic hurt the Action Industries Chevy. Allmendinger went on to fight in the top 10 and earned an eighth place finish.

“I thought we had a really, really good Action Industries Chevy, we just weren’t quite strong enough in traffic. When we got clean air, I could run really fast laps. There was definitely cars that could maneuver better and we have to work on that. We had speed, my pit crew did an amazing job and overall I was happy with our race today.”

– AJ Allmendinger

No. 10  Sea Best Camaro ZL1

  • Start: 17th
  • Stage 1 Finish: 31st
  • Stage 2 Finish: 24th
  • Finish: 21st
  • Recap: Ty Dillon and the No. 10 Sea Best Chevrolet team started the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from the 17th position and from the start of the race, struggled with the handling of their car. The team took advantage of the caution periods throughout the race to make adjustments to the No. 10 Chevy and with each set of adjustments, Dillon let the team know that the handling was improving. Focused on getting a solid finish, Dillon was able to run as high as 12th during the final stage before ultimately crossing the finish line in the 21st position.

“Our Sea Best team battles and fights and gets better and better every time, every minute we work together. We’re developing a trend of getting stronger as we go, so that’s exciting for the future. We had some opportunities to probably have a better finish there, but from where we were at the beginning of the race to the end, it was a lot better. I’m very happy with our effort. We’ll keep going and getting better. I’m very pleased.”

– Ty Dillon
