  • So far this season, in three previous superspeedway starts, Dillon has led laps in each race for a total of 13 laps.
  • This weekend will mark Dillon’s 22nd-career start at Talladega Superspeedway among NASCAR’s top-three touring series – NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
  • Dillon has led laps at Talladega Superspeedway in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series for a total of 148 laps led at the 2.66-mile track.
  • In the ARCA Menards Series, Dillon has one start in 2011 where he started on the pole, led 50 of 94 laps and won the race.

“Talladega is a place where I have confidence and have run well at throughout my career. We’ve had speed this year at the superspeedway races and were able to lead laps and run up front. We put ourselves in a good position to have a shot at the win at the first Talladega, but ran out of fuel on the last lap. If we can avoid mistakes and execute a solid race, I think we’ll be able to put our car up front and have a shot at the end.”

“Our No. 16 group has had the same goal for every race as the season winds down and that is to execute; that’s the same plan we have going into Talladega. Our Kaulig Racing Chevrolets have been fast on superspeedways and while Talladega hasn’t been a great track for me, I’m confident we can bring speed and we’ll do our best to stay out of the ‘Big One.’”

It’s actually one of the places that I’ve had decent finishes at over the last couple years, between trucks and the Xfinity race earlier this year, completely opposite of Daytona. I generally like superspeedway racing, but Talladega definitely treats me better than Daytona, so looking forward to a successful weekend with the No. 10 group.”
